Bea Yormark needs no introduction. To those of us in the LonWorks community, we knew what a vibrant, energetic person she was; and how that spirit radiated to those around her. Bea served as a guiding role on the LonMark Board of Directors when LonMark was still under Echelon's wing. She also served on the board of the Continental Building Automation Association.
Outside the LonWorks community, Bea served on the Purdue University, College of Science, Dean's Leadership Council. Bea was involved in interests ranging from the Association for Computing Machinery, to the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council's efforts of making nature trails.
For more than 18 years Bea was a leader at Echelon, guiding the LonWorks market to where it is today. She was a person of great integrity and resilience; always there with a kind word and positive feedback. Those who were close to her will remember her warmth and honesty, and her keen business sense. Bea's friends at LonMark International extend our sincerest thoughts to Justin Walker, her husband and friend to many in the LonWorks community, and to their families. For us, Bea will be sorely missed as a friend and as a leading figure in the world of control networks — a world she played a large role in creating.
For those wishing to express their condolences in flowers, Bea's family requests in lieu of flowers: contributions to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation at 2440 W El Camino Real, Mountain View CA 94040, USA.
Please write, “The Beatrice Yormark Foundation” in the memo line of any contributions. |
