LonMark Awards
 

LonMark® International announces the annual “Best of Year” awards.  The annual awards honor products, companies, projects and individuals that have demonstrated innovation, vision and leadership:

Each category has a set of criteria by which nominations were judged. The LonMark International Board of Directors evaluated the nominees based upon defined criteria for each category. Decision of the Board is final. Each participating Board member was given one vote.

Award winners are also highlighted in the LonMark International Magazine distributed by mail this month.



Multi-Vendor Project of the Year for 2014 — Large Campus Integration

Winner 2014:  ISDE for Ferroparque Building Project in Querétaro, México(opens a PDF document)

Large Campus Integration: recognizing the best medium-to-large single installation.

ISDE

ISDE worked with local engineers and integrators to completely automate a four-story building, by integrating HVAC, lighting, access and security within each office and the building’s common areas. This project exemplifies the degree of openness of the system and the benefit of LON® technology to the customer.

Winner 2014:  Engenuity Systems recognized for their Small Box Energy project involving the Chameleon energy management solution(opens a PDF document)

Small Repeatable Solution: recognizing integrators with multiple installations such as retail, banking, or restaurant chains.

Engenuity Systems

Small Box Energy opted to trust Engenuity Systems to design, procure, manufacture, and test the hardware in its energy management system for them, freeing up resources for Small Box Energy to focus on its core competency, customer service.

Certified Device of the Year for 2014

Winner 2014:  ThebenHTS for the PlanoCentro PCLON Presence Detectors

Innovation and inspiration are the cornerstones of continued growth for any industry. New products and solutions help foster new ideas and applications.

Recognized for its three directional light measurements, the PCLON allows for optimal use of daylight – and therefore maximizes energy savings. The PlanoCentro PCLON is ideally suited for use in open-plan offices, classrooms and other types of rooms. It can support a detection range of up to 100 m² with minimal movement, making it the ideal solution for demanding applications.

Nominations were judged based upon the following criteria:

  • Solution to industry problem or issue

Industry Visionary of the Year

Winner 2014:  Christophe Orceau, Streetlight.Vision

People make this industry thrive. There are many leaders that are dedicating their efforts towards continued progress and for the benefit of all. This award is annually presented to the individual who exemplifies the attributes of a true visionary.

Streetlight.Vision

Christophe Orceau founded a company that provides open Central Management Software for smart streetlight and smart city applications: Streetlight.Vision. Christophe has been honored for his vital role in leading the LonMark street lighting initiative and for being a longtime supporter of LonMark International. Christophe is very dedicated to accelerating adoption of LonMark certified streetlight control products and has been a driving force behind marketing programs that create LonMark awareness worldwide.

Nominations were judged based upon the following criteria:

  • Leadership role in LonMark International or local LonMark Affiliate
  • Industry support through public appearances, seminars, discussion groups
  • Publication of articles in the LonMark International Magazine and other trade media
  • Delivering on the concepts of ISO/IEC 14908, open, and interoperability
  • Special consideration will be given to nominees who demonstrate the principles of industry stewardship and the implementation of these principles in their own lives and businesses.
