Automated Food Service Equipment/Catering Task Group

LonMark in conjunction with 8 industry partners received funding from the European Commission to develop standards for the automated food-service industry. The twelve month ESPRIT funded project was entitled MASS Maintenance and After Sales Service. The MASS project was focused on integrating engineering, maintenance and after-sales operations into the automated food-service industry using control solutions based on LonWorks® technology for real-time monitoring and control.

The result of the MASS project is a multi-vendor pilot installation at a site owned by Mövenpick, enabling flexible engineering and the remote maintenance of six typical groups of automated food-service machines and equipment.
