September 27, 2007 - The LonMark Certified Professional test provides a worldwide standard of proficiency for individuals who install, integrate, and maintain systems utilizing LonMark certified products.
The certification will cover:
- LonWorks history and basic terminology
- Transport media
- Nodes
- Communication
- Physical network structuring
- Logical network structuring
- Installation
- Network configuration
- Tools for network management
- LonWorks and IP
- Troubleshooting
- User interfaces

The test, which provides a means of establishing valid credentials and a reliable competency standard for industry specialists, is highly recommended for any specialist engaging in the design, specification, integration, or installation of LON® control networks. The Certified Professional test is currently offered in English and German. More information about the test, such as format and length of exam and notification of test results is available online.
Being a LonMark member and becoming LonMark certified will help guarantee one can offer customers the best possible LON solution and the most qualified people working on the project. Certification also ensures professionals are up to date on the latest “best practices” available.
For testing times and registration, please visit the Test Registration and Schedule page on our website. The cost for the test is US$300 for non-LonMark members and US$250 for LonMark members.
