LONMARK International to Offer Free Education Sessions and Members to Showcase Multi-Protocol Demo at AHR 2019 WHEN: January 14-16, 2019, Georgia World Congress, Atlanta, GA
WHERE: LonMark International will be in booth #C5020
LonMark’seducation sessions to take place on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Room B309
WHAT: LonMark International, a non-profit corporation supporting the testing and certification of products, people and companies supporting the ISO/IEC 14908 body of control networking standards. At AHR Expo,LonMark will be highlighting new and exciting developments at our booth #C5020. LonMark will host a demonstration utilizing controllers that simultaneously communicate using the predominant Open Protocols – LON-FT, LON-IP, LON-HDPLC, BACnet-IP, BACnet MS/TP and BACnet-FT demonstrating a variety of wired and wireless media types working concurrently and interoperably. These controllers are not gateways, but rather directly integrated with each other – a significant enhancement to the world of open protocols. The demonstration will highlight the wiring, network performance, data throughput speeds, and functionality of the various options and how an integrated network allows for better control. The demonstration will be highlighted both in the LonMark booth and during the 9:30 AM session of our free education sessions which run all day Tuesday, Jan. 15, 8:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. in Room B309.
8 AM-9:15 AM – How to Deliver Smart and Open Building Applications for IoT
This session will discuss best practices to integrate cloud IoT applications and traditional BMS applications.
Speakers: Rich Blomseth (Adesto), Matthias Lürkens (Gesytec), and Tracy Markie (Engenuity Systems)
9:30 AM – 10:45 AM– Synergies Between BACnet and LON
With the advent of new multi-protocol controllers, controllers can contain both the LON and BACnet stack and can communicate LON over FT, BACnet/IP over FT, and BACnet MS/TP over RS-485 simultaneously and can all be accessing the same points in the controller.
Speakers: - Alan Slabodkin and Samy Arbid (Western Allied Corporation), Daniel Zotti (Occitaline), and Ron Bernstein (LonMarkInternational)
1 PM – 2:20 PM– LonMark Technology Updates
LonMark has been very active developing new standards for smart building and smart city applications. This session will focus on the new technical developments, current pilot installations, and example implementations.
Speakers: Ron Bernstein (Moderator), Matthias Lürkens (Gesytec), Masahiro Konishi (MegaChips), Rich Blomseth (Echelon)
2:30 PM – 3:45 PM- Best Practices for Designing Large Systems Using LON Open Protocol
This session will discuss the options, architecture, and best practices for designing large and very large systems using LON. Several architecture examples will be provided along with a checklist of key performance indictors (KPIs) to help system designers get it right the first time.
Speakers:Greg Powell (Enerlon), Tracy Markie, Daniel Zotti
4 PM- 5:00 PM – Panel Session: Convergence of Building Automation and IoT Applications
Join in the discussion with our mega-panel as we explore the world of IoT for smart buildings. Representatives from vendors, integrators, designers, and end users will converge on this panel and will provide their insights as to how BMS/BAS/IoT are paving the way for the next generation of smart buildings.
Panelists: Ron Bernstein, Sohrab Modi (Adesto), Daniel Zotti, Alan Slabodkin, Matthias Lürkens and Tracy Markie
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM– General Member Meeting and Networking
Chris Jodoin Vice President and General Manager, Embedded Systems from Adesto will speak on the Acquisition of Echelon.
The following members are sponsors of this year’s education seminars and booth demonstration: Echelon (a division of Adesto), Engenuity Systems, Western Allied Corporation, MegaChips, Occitaline and Gesytec.
NOTE: LonMark’s CEO and Executive Director, Ron Bernstein will be in attendance for press meetings. If interested in scheduling a meeting please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
