United States Army Corp Specifications

The Utility Monitoring and Control System (UMCS)(opens into a new window) Mandatory Center of Expertise (MCX) at Huntsville Center (Huntsville, Alabama, US) was tasked to tackle recurring and common issues in the design and installation of UMCS projects throughout the US Department of Defense.  In 2004, Section 13801 and Section 15951 specifications detailing the use of LonWorks® networking (“EIA 709.1B” – now ANSI/CEA-709.1-B) were published to help facilitate proper design and installation. Since this time, the Division references have changed and the Sections have been updated to be Unified Facilities Guide Specifications(opens into a new window) UFGS 25 10 10 and UFGS 23 09 23, respectively.

These specifications, open for all to view, provide a network-design and procurement basis that can be used in UMCS projects. They can also serve as templates for non-UMCS projects.

Of special interest: An 82-page interim report titled IMCOM LONWORKS® Building Automation Systems Implementation Strategy, was written and published by the US Army Corps of Engineers in June, 2007.

The below documents are produced by, and made available through, the US Army Corp of Engineers—a government agency of the United States of America.
