AHR Expo

AHR Expo

WHAT: LONMARK International, a non-profit corporation supporting the testing and certification of products, people and companies supporting the ISO/IEC 14908 and ANSI/CTA-709 series of networking standards. At AHR Expo, LONMARK will be highlighting two new and exciting demos.

The demos will showcase a live version of eViewIoT platform. eViewIoT is an integrated IoT platform used by leading retailers as well as companies with portfolios of deployed IoT assets. Remotely control and monitor, collect data and provide real-time support for all your key IoT devices and equipment. Built-in applications can reduce energy consumption, provide proactive alarming/alerting and help you visualize your data to the benefit of your customers.

In addition LonMark will have a remote demo that highlights the following benefits of LonMark web services:
· Multi-protocol data normalization for IoT service access
· Multi-protocol system integration using the open source Node-RED tool
· Multi-protocol system monitoring and control from a BACnet workstation and custom web pages
· Support for local data logging and alarm services

Be sure to join us for our free education sessions on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 9AM- 5PM in Room N232.
9AM -10AM: Building Automation Adapts to the Smart Grid
In this session, the audience will hear about the latest Smart Grid regulations, which require standardized interface points for diverse appliance types to be ready for the Smart Grid. Increased usage of renewables, stricter carbon limitations, and new electricity consumers amongst other things require more flexibility on the demand side. Appliances have been a target for several years but no harmonized implementation models have been developed. This session will review the new regulations, the proposed solutions, and the impact on building controls.
– Rolf Bienert, LonMark International

10:30AM – 11:30AM: Why Should Smart Cities Demand True Interoperability for Lighting Controls Solutions?
This presentation argues that in the same way as the electricity supply is standardized, so too should the communication protocol be standardized to allow scalability and true interoperability across multiple communication methods and applications. In this way the technology “decision risk” will be significantly reduced leading to faster and more effective implementation.
– Mark Verheyen, LVX Global

1PM-2PM: Cost Effective IP-Based High-Speed Wireline Communication Technology
Control networks are becoming larger and more complex, placing tremendous demands on the underlying communications technology. System designers need solutions that can deliver higher bandwidths, provide ample overhead for security, support more nodes, and reliably communicate over long distances.
– Michael Navid, MegaChips

2:30PM-3:30PM: Reducing Smart Building Complexity with the Smarter Stack
The complexity inherent in smart buildings can be overwhelming, especially when large numbers of vendors, products, and technologies are involved. This session will introduce the recently released, game-changing, open-source Smarter Stack from the Monday Live! Group. The Smarter Stack tool puts order to this complexity by modeling components and their stakeholders onto a single business-centric stack.
Join this session to see examples of the Smarter Stack in action, highlighting well-known applications and technologies AND to learn how to create your own Smarter Stack!
– Tracy Markie, Engenuity Systems

4PM-5PM: A New Web Services Standard for Building Controls
This education session will cover the new ANSI/CTA 709.10 web services standard. The session will focus on how integrators can use the new standard to interface existing and new building control networks that use the BACnet or LON protocols to cloud services. The session will include a description of how the ANSI/CTA 709.10 standard provides a common information model and data model for the IoT that enables the construction of digital twins of the physical devices in a building network.
– Rich Blomseth, Dialog, a Renesas Company
